Although noted as not being a contributory factor in the failure of the Overhead Contact System (OCS) wire, the tram On Tram Data Recorder (OTDR) was not downloaded post incident and as a result the raw data was overwritten and not available for analysis. As a result, the RAIU make the following safety recommendation:
Transdev should put a process in place that all trams involved in serious incidents have the On Tram Data Recorder (OTDR) downloaded as soon as possible to prevent overwriting of the data.
